A CME conference in the summer in Maine combines an educational experience with a Maine vacation experience. Colby has been host to educational programs for the medical and allied health professions since 1945 and is the only private liberal arts college in the nation accredited to offer Category 1 credit for the Physician's Recognition Award of the American Medical Association. Each summer the courses attract registrants from all across the country, and this diverse geographic representation enhances the exchange of ideas that course participants especially value. Our friendly, courteous staff, small course size, accessible faculty, and timely topics make a CME program at Colby a quality experience.
2008 CME calendar dates are posted below. The individual web pages will be updated as information becomes available.
This educational experience is relaxed and informal. Come join us in Maine this summer.
Maine is not only larger than the other five New England states combined, it has a population less than half that of greater Boston, which leaves summer visitors plenty of pristine lakes, powerful rivers, miles of scenic, rocky coastline, and breathtaking stretches of forested mountains to explore. Colby is located on Mayflower Hill overlooking the Kennebec River and the town of Waterville, only minutes from the renowned Belgrade chain of inland lakes, an hour from the Atlantic coast, and slightly more than an hour from both wilderness mountains and rivers and from Portland, the state's largest city. The 714-acre campus is a state wildlife management area and includes an arboretum, bird sanctuary, pond, playing fields, and walking and cross-country trails that wind through acres of wooded land, just the place to combine a family summer vacation with an accredited CME program held in an informal, relaxed setting.
