On Tuesday, September 2, 2008, the Class of 2012 gathered in Lorimer Chapel where Dean of Admissions Parker Beverage presented them to President Adams for matriculation.

On Tuesday, August 26, 2008, on the steps of Miller Library, President Adams, along with Vice-Presidents Yeterian and Terhune, welcomed the class of 2012 to Colby.

Though Colby has employed environmentally responsible practices for years, in 2008 the College took a more coordinated approach to making senior week and commencement events green. Alaina Clark '08 narrates a video highlighting Colby's green initiatives, including Green Graduation, led by Colby's Environmental Advisory Group.

In 2007 Colby's Environmental Advisory Group produced this video for the National Wildlife Federation's "Chill Out" contest. Steve Tatko '10 guides viewers through highlights of Colby's efforts to combat global warming, from geothermal wells to light bulb exchanges.

On May 23, 2008, six Colby professors with over 150 years of service marked the end of their teaching careers at the annual faculty-trustee dinner. Associate Professor of Music Eva Linfield was one of them.
