Ben Fallaw received his PhD in Latin American history from the University of Chicago in December of 1995. Mr. Fallaw offers classes in Latin American History; Latin American Studies; the History of the Maya; Caudillos and Populism in Modern Latin America and Spain; Law, Society and Rebellion in Mexico; and Women, Gender and Family in Latin America. He enjoys teaching Latin American Studies as opposed to just history because it allows him to bring his interests in anthropology and indigenous cultures, film, and literature into the classroom. He has lived in Mexico City and Merida while on a Fulbright fellowship, and especially enjoys working with students doing honors theses and independent studies on Latin American topics.
