Varun Avasthi
Director of Dining Services  Varun is a general manager for Sodexo, the food service provider for Colby College. As such, he oversees the entire Dining Services Program at Colby which includes the board plan for the three dining halls, the campus retail operations in the Pulver Pavilion, and all catering. His door is always open to answer questions or entertain student requests. Whenever you submit a question or request on our "suggestion box" web site, he is the one receiving your email.

Joe concentrates much of his effort behind the scenes to make sure all aspects of Colby's Dining Services run smoothly. If you are not able to resolve a Dining Service issue with your dining hall manager, please feel free to speak to Joe.
David is new to Colby this year. He comes to us from Chili's Restaurant in Bangor and will be managing The Joseph Family Spa, Caporale Lounge, and Marchese Bluelight Pub located in the newly-renovated Pulver Pavillion in Cotter Union. He will be happy to give you a tour of this exciting new retail dining space. In the meantime, if you see him around campus, make sure to welcome him aboard.
Thomas is always available to help you plan any catering event being charged to a department account number. He is also the person to see for class dinners and sports breakup meals. If you need assistance with a menu or have any questions about your catering options, Thomas will be happy to meet with you.
Anthony is our new Assistant Catering Manager. Feel free to contact him for assistance with any of your catering needs.
Heather is the Dining Hall Manager at Roberts. If you need information about Roberts dining program, need a grill, or to arrange for a take-out, feel free to stop in to talk to her any time. You'll find her office right next to the checker's station.
As the Assistant Manager at Roberts, Keith can assist you will any of your dining needs. You will see him in the dining hall at lunch and dinner or feel free to give him a call to arrange for a grill or take-out.
Wendy is the Executive Chef in charge of overseeing all the food at Colby. She also works with our catering department to develop innovative dishes for Colby's extensive catering program. If you have any questions regarding the ingredients or preparation methods of Roberts dishes, she will be happy to speak with you.
Terry oversees all aspects of Foss's food program which includes many vegetarian, vegan, and organic offerings. If you have any suggestions, questions, or concerns about the dining program at Foss, Terry would be happy to speak with you.
Paul has full responsibility for the Dana Dining Hall program. If you need to arrange for a take out, want to borrow a grill, or have any questions about the dining program in Dana, Paul would be happy to speak to you. He also handles all sports team take-out requests.
If you have always eaten at Dana, you will see a familiar face. Andy is back home at Dana Hall and would be happy to answer any questions about Dana's food program or help you arrange for a take-out
Mike is Dana's production manager. He creates and oversees the menu and supervises the cooking staff. If you have any questions regarding the menu choices or preparation methods, look him up. He is always happy to work with our students.
