Hillel '06-'07

Each year Hillel sponsors many events including a Seder dinner, lectures, and group activities. The Lipman family sponsors an annual lecture on a Jewish-related topic. Religious events, such as services in the synagogue for the High Holy Days, are also provided.

High Holiday Information

The high holidays are coming up quickly, and Colby Hillel has several events planned.

First, Come join Hillel on Monday, September 29th for student led Rosh Hashanah services and dinner! We will be having a short, and super fun service at 5:30 in the Robinson room in Miller (behind the DVDs).  Dinner will follow in Pugh Commons at 6:45. Great food, music, and overall Jew-bonding! Don't miss it. If you want to come to the dinner, please RSVP to mebronst@colby.edu with your name and student ID number by this Saturday. We really need to know how many people to expect for the dinner, so please respond by this Saturday if you plan to attend. All are welcome, Jewish or not, so be sure to invite your friends too!

Hillel will also be having a break fast for Yom Kippur on Thursday, October 9th at 6:30 in the Smith-Robins room on the 2nd floor of Bobs. Again, we really need to know how many people to expect, so if you plan to attend please RSVP to me at edbrauns@colby.edu by next weekend with your name and student ID number.

We have also compiled information about services at several synagogues in the area. If you have any additional question about services please feel free to email me. For rides to services at Beth Israel Waterville, please meet outside the Pugh Center 30 minutes before the service is scheduled to start. If you have a car and have extra room, please meet there to provide rides! If you are interested in attending services at either of the synagogues in Bangor, please email me so I can arrange for rides and RSVP to the synagogues.
