To ensure that Colby continues to thrive as one of the country's finest small private liberal arts institutions, President Adams called upon the College community to embark on a comprehensive planning process. Significant opportunities that will help Colby to go beyond merely remaining competitive among its peer institutions have been identified. Put most simply, the College needs to build endowment, to increase annual operating support, and to provide first-rate facilities for its students and faculty. Equipped with these resources, a truly outstanding faculty can teach students who will benefit profoundly from the experience and who can take what they have learned into the world to make a difference.
