Seven Colby track and field athletes honored
WATERVILLE, Maine --- Colby College first-year runner Emma Linhard (Brunswick, Maine) was named the Women's Most Outstanding Rookie Performer and earned all-conference honors along with four other women and two men for New England Small College Athletic Conference outdoor track and field on Tuesday.
Linhard and teammate Anna King (Greenland, N.H.) each won events for the Colby women and earned All-NESCAC honors for finishing in the top three of their event. On the men's side, Chris Copeland (Rexford, N.Y.) made the all-conference team for winning the long jump on Saturday. Linhard was a champion in the 1,500 meters and King won the 3,000 steeplechase. Linhard and King joined forces with Liz Petit (Grosse Point, Mich.) and Cassie Knight (Carlisle, Mass.) to earn all-league honors in the 3,200 relay after finishing in second place. Knight also placed second in the steeplechase and teammate Brianna Kondrat (Eaton, N.H.) was second in the discus throw. Copeland earned all-conference honors along with teammate Camden Bucsko (Cumberland, Maine), who placed second in the men's discus throw.
