WATERVILLE, Maine --- For the second straight week and the third time this season, Colby College's Becky Julian (South Windsor, Conn.) has been honored as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week.

Julian earned the honor Monday after breaking the NESCAC record for points in a tourney with 17 on 11 goals and six assists. The old record was 15 and was held by two women. Julian and teammate Amy Campbell each had 11 goals in Colby's three games in the league tourney and tied the record of an Amherst player.

Julian had three goals and one assist as the Mules won the program's first-ever NESCAC title with a 14-12 win over Trinity College on Sunday at Middlebury College. She also had four goals as Colby posted a 10-8 win over Middlebury in a semifinal game Saturday. Middlebury was the seven-time defending champions and had an 88-game home winning streak snapped.

Julian has 44 goals and 18 assists for 62 points in 15 games. She ranks third in the NESCAC in points per game (4.13), fourth in goals per game (2.93), and ninth in assists per game (1.20). Julian missed the first two games of the season while earning All-NESCAC honors and leading the Colby women's ice hockey team to the NESCAC title game.

A junior attacker, Julian has 88 goals and 29 assists for 117 career points heading into Colby's game Wednesday with Eastern Connecticut State in an NCAA opening round contest at 4:30 p.m. on Bill Alfond Field.
