When is Colby's fiscal year?
Colby's fiscal year begins July 1 each year and ends the following June 30. The fiscal year runs six months ahead of the calendar year; the 2008 Colby Fund year began July 1, 2007, and will end June 30, 2008. All gifts must be made by June 30 in order to ensure they are included in that year.

How can I make a gift to Colby?
Colby strives to make it as easy as possible for alumni to make contributions to Colby.

Payment by Check—All checks can be mailed to Colby College, Office of the Colby Fund, 4320 Mayflower Hill, Waterville, ME 04901-8843.

Payment by Credit Card—Colby accepts American Express, Visa, and MasterCard. Alumni may schedule up to 12 monthly credit card installments per fiscal year. Because Colby’s fiscal year ends June 30, installments scheduled after June 30 each year will be credited to the next fiscal year.
Monthly Installments or Recurring Gifts
Donors can make installment gifts via credit card to help spread out payments. Advantages of signing up online for your automatic donation include:
    - You won't receive any more reminders or calls.
    - You'll be saving trees and carbon emissions.
Visit Colby's Monthly Giving page for more information.

Colby Fund Toll-Free Line—Alumni may call 1-800-311-3678 to charge gifts, pledge payments, or arrange installment payments to their credit cards.

Colby Fund Secure Web site—Alumni may access http://www.colby.edu/give to make gifts via Colby's secure Web site.

Gifts of Securities—Gifts of securities are a great vehicle, as donors most often avoid the capital gains tax and may be able to claim an income tax deduction as well. Colby accepts many gifts this way annually. Information for transferring securities:

DTC:  0235 (RBC Wealth Management)
Acct.#:     30117442
Acct. Title:  Colby College
Attn:

Scott Smith ’88
Director of Administrative Financial Services

Alumni who transfer stock through the DTC should notify Scott Smith '88 of the issue and number of shares that are being transferred to Colby. The DTC provides anonymity for transfers, and Colby will have no way of identifying the gift without this information.

    Can I designate my gift?
Alumni may designate their Colby Fund gifts to one of five different areas:

    Unrestricted Support
Used wherever the opportunity is greatest, unrestricted gifts are vital resources that help the College provide an outstanding liberal arts education.

    Financial Aid
The College always has provided financial aid to ensure that talented and deserving students can attend, regardless of their family's financial ability.

    Academic Program Support
Colby takes great pride in its ability to attract and retain a superior faculty. Gifts designated to academic program support provide resources for faculty research and allow faculty members to enhance programs that directly benefit students.

    Athletics
You may now designate your Colby Fund gift to support the student-athletes who represent Colby on varsity sports teams, play club sports, and take part in intramural and recreational sports programs.

    Library Support
Educational excellence requires that the most current information resources in a variety of printed and electronic media are available through Colby's three libraries.

    Campus Beautification
To make sure that Colby’s campus is impeccably maintained, consistent care is required in residence halls and classroom buildings as well as for landscaping.

    How can I get involved?
Colby is pleased to acknowledge individual class agents and classes that made particularly outstanding efforts for Colby during the past fiscal year. Created in 1979, these annual awards have been marking these important milestones for more than a quarter of a century.
