Where do alumni go when they arrive on campus?
Your first stop should be reunion registration, which is in the Schair-Swenson-Watson Alumni Center. Upon arrival, alumni can check in, receive a packet with meal tickets, maps, the weekend schedule, class memorabilia, nametags, and room keys if applicable.

Are spouses/partners/significant others/kids invited?
Absolutely! We encourage returning alumni to bring their entire families. All activities and programs are open to anyone who is on campus for the weekend.

What type of childcare and programming is provided?
Friday
Free drop-off childcare will be available Friday afternoon during the faculty lectures in the Diamond Building and again Friday evening during the reunion carnival in Pulver Pavilion. Parents must check children in and remain in the building at all times. (Suggested ages: 2-13. Alumni with younger children and infants, please check the availability of space at the reunion registration desk in the Schair-Swenson-Watson Alumni Center.)

Saturday
Children age 5 to 13 may attend the Colby Camp. This program is run by experienced college-age supervisors with help from area high-school students. Children may participate in the family-fun tent, sports, and crafts, and they may watch movies. Movie titles will be posted in the childcare center and in the final program you will receive at the registration area when you arrive on campus. Each child will be required to wear a childcare pinnie and a nametag and will be assigned to a small group supervised by a member of our childcare staff. For infants through age 4, there is a separate childcare center supervised by a licensed childcare provider and equipped with space for naps, rocking chairs for nursing mothers, age-appropriate toys, snacks, and movies. Meals and appropriate snacks will also be served on Saturday night. All parents will be required to fill out a medical release card and to sign their children in and out of the program at the main childcare desk in each facility. Preregistration is required for participation in the Saturday programs.  See Children's Programs for more information.

What meal options are available on Friday evening?
Members of the classes of 1953 and 1958 and members of the Willows Society are invited to a special dinner on Friday evening.  For all other alumni, both the Joseph Family Spa and the Marchese Blue Light Pub will be open on campus, and local restaurant information will be available at the reunion registration desk in the Schair-Swenson-Watson Alumni Center.

How can I find out if someone from my class is coming?
Please select your class year from the appropriate menu in the upper left section of this page to see who is planning to come.

Are non-reunion classes invited?
Yes, alumni who are not part of an official reunion class but who would like to attend are welcome to do so. Off-year alumni should register for the reunion of the class closest to their own class year.

If I am staying in a dorm on campus, do I need to bring my own sheets?
No. If you pre-register for dormitory housing, we will provide a twin bed, a pillow, sheets, a blanket, and a towel. You may want to bring an extra pillow or blanket depending on your preference. To see the cost of staying on campus or to register for your reunion, please select your class year from the appropriate menu in the upper left section of this page.

I have some particular needs related to accessibility. What should I do?
Colby College is committed to making its campus accessible to persons with disabilities. However, not all areas of campus are fully accessible. Individuals who have special needs should contact the Alumni Relations Office at 207-859-4310 or alumni@colby.edu.

Can alumni room with their friends?
Yes, alumni pre-registering to stay in the dorms may request to be paired with or located near friends. Please indicate this on your registration form, and we will try to accommodate your request if possible. The earlier you register, the more likely we can do it. Please be advised that shared rooms will not be assigned until all roommates have registered for reunion with Alumni Relations.

Is there a dress code?
Dress is casual all weekend except for the Saturday evening class receptions and dinners, at which men tend to wear jackets and ties and women often wear dresses, skirts, or similar attire. If you plan to participate in any sports, such as golf, swimming, tennis, or volleyball, bring appropriate athletic attire. Please note that some dorm rooms do not have mirrors.

What should I pack?
In case of rain or cold weather, bring slickers, sweaters, and umbrellas. Playpens and portable cribs should be on young families’ lists. Bring your own clock if you need an alarm. Everyone registered to stay in a dorm will be provided with linens, a blanket, a pillow, and a towel. You should pack necessary toiletries, hangers, and an iron.

I have a child who would like to interview at Colby. Can he or she do so during Reunion Weekend?
A limited number of interview times are available for the children of Colby alumni on Thursday and Friday, June 5 and 6. Please contact the Admissions Office at 207-859-4800 to schedule an interview.

Are pets allowed on campus?
We are sorry, but no pets are allowed on campus. Please make alternate arrangements.

Will the bookstore be open?
The Colby Seaverns bookstore will be open and will feature various items on sale. Store hours will be published in the information packet you will receive at the registration desk in the Schair=Swenson-Watson Alumni Center when you arrive on campus.

Will I be able to use the pool, gym, or other athletic facilities?
Colby’s athletic facilities are available for returning alumni and their guests. Take a swim in the pool, play a tennis match at the Alfond-Wales Tennis Courts, or sweat it out using the free weights, exercise bicycles, treadmills, and rowing machines in the Boulos Family Fitness Center. Times vary and will be posted when you arrive on campus.

Can I just walk in without preregistering?
We strongly encourage you to preregister online, by phone (207-859-4310), or by mail. We cannot guarantee availability of dorm housing or meals if you do not preregister. We also want to have a registration packet ready for you.

May I get a refund if I need to cancel?
For reunion, full refunds are available until June 2, 2008. After that date, we will not be able to issue refunds because all food and materials will have been ordered and staffing levels determined. Thank you for your understanding.
