A Colby study abroad group visits StonehengeEach year the Institute of International Education publishes a list of the colleges that send the most students abroad, and every year Colby shows up near the top of the list. More than two thirds of Colby’s students spend time studying overseas before they graduate, and with the Jan Plan students have multiple opportunities to extend their Colby experience around the globe. Language acquisition programs in France and Spain, internships in London’s financial district, teaching opportunities in Japanese schools, or social science research in Latin America—they are all ways that foreign study helps prepare Colby students for the global society of the 21st century. With a long history of internationalism, Colby has connections that can help open doors all over the world.

Financial aid abroad
Study abroad is an equal opportunity proposition at Colby. Financial aid awarded to Colby students is fully portable, insofar as aid can be applied to Colby programs abroad as well as to other approved off-campus study options.
