Foss dining hallcampus life

Colby has three dining halls, each with its own personality, and overall the quality of food at Colby is rated among the best in the nation. Foss is known for vegetarian options and stir-fry; Dana offers a food court atmosphere, with cooked-to-order omelets and burgers as well as pizza and pasta entrees; Roberts (informally “Bob’s”) will be renovated in 2005 to offer exhibition-style food preparation and interesting new options for dining tables. Student satisfaction with the quality of food and service is extremely high, and the dining services staff is responsive to student requests and eager to innovate—by featuring various ethnic foods, working on fresher and made-to-order meals, and even preparing students’ favorite recipes
from home.

Vegan and International
Check out the Foss Dining Hall menus online and note that there are always some asterisks on the menu, denoting vegan entrees and side dishes. Each of Colby’s three dining halls has its own personality, and Foss is known for vegetarian and international cuisine. Among the vegan entrees in a week’s worth of menus at Foss were spicy peanut noodles, hoisin stir fry with organic seitan, organic tofu with hot chili sauce, organic tempeh with tamarind sauce, shomoni aboor, midori edamame, vegetable spring rolls with sweet chili sauce, and vegetable paella. Among non-veggie offerings: pad thai with bay scallops, cajun spiced beef, and baked ziti with pesto.
