Colby Secure Wireless
|
The Colby Secure Wireless network is a secure alternative to the open (unencrypted) 'Colby Wireless' network. Connections to the secure wireless network are secured certificate-based WPA2-AES encryption. This encryption ensures that the wireless data stream cannot be captured or monitored by other stations. All current Colby account holders (students, faculty and staff) are encouraged to use the encrypted network whenever possible. Digital Certificate Requirement Access to the Colby Secure Wireless network requires a Colby digital certificate and a current Colby email account. If you are not using a college-issued Windows domain computer and have not already installed a digital certificate, click here to obtain one. Connecting to Colby Secure Wireless Provided that you have a Colby digital certificate installed and a current Colby email account (see above), you can configure your computer to connect to the Colby Secure Wireless network.
