French and Italian - Assistant Professor in French, Tenure Track

TENURE TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION IN FRENCH BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 1, 2009. EXPERTISE IN FRANCOPHONE AFRICAN LITERATURE AND CULTURE AND EXPERIENCE TEACHING FRENCH LANGUAGE AT ALL LEVELS. Native or near-native abilities in French and English, an excellent teaching record, and promising scholarship in the specialist field. A commitment to integrate French and Francophone Studies at all levels of the curriculum required. Secondary expertise in postcolonial theory, African Diasporas, film and/or cultural studies desirable. PhD preferred; ABD considered. Review of applications will begin on December 1, 2008 and will continue until the position is filled. Preliminary interviews will take place at the December 2008 MLA meeting in San Francisco.
