Computer Science - HHMI Postdoctroal Fellow, 2 year position

The Department of Computer Science at Colby College is seeking to fill a two year postdoctoral
fellow position in computer science, with a focus on applications of CS in biology or neuroscience.
The position starting date is September 1, 2009. Funded by a grant from the Howard Hughes
Medical Institute, the position will be divided between teaching and research, with responsibility
for two computer science courses per year. It is intended to provide experience teaching at a small
liberal arts college while also supporting the development of an active research program.

Colby College is a highly selective, comprehensive liberal arts college in Waterville, Maine. The
department offers a major and a minor in computer science and is building a focus on interdisciplinary applications of CS. The postdoctoral position is intended to continue the development of teaching and research ties among CS, biology and the other sciences. The department is well equipped with computing facilities, including a teaching lab, a small computer cluster, and a robotics and vision lab. The department also has a new research computing cluster and a separate server for web applications and the department web site.
