The Department of Economics at Colby College invites applications for two tenure-track positions in applied microeconomics at the assistant professor level, beginning September 1, 2009.  Preference will be given to the teaching and research fields listed above, although exceptional candidates from any applied micro area will be considered. In addition to teaching courses in the areas of specialization, the successful candidates will contribute to the teaching of introductory and intermediate theory and/or econometrics. Colby College expects both excellent teaching and published research and provides substantial support for career development in both areas. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in economics completed by August 2009. To be considered for an interview at the 2009 ASSA meetings, please send curriculum vitae, graduate transcript, three letters of recommendation, reprints of published work or a writing sample of current research, and official summaries of teaching evaluations by November 14, 2008. Candidates are also encouraged to provide a brief statement of teaching philosophy. Please send all materials as hard copy. Other applications may be reviewed until the position is filled.
