Long considered the hardest portion of the entire 2,000+ mile Appalachian Trail, this trip is structured for those participants who will be comfortable hiking on the Appalachian Trail for the entire duration of the trip. Strenuous hiking is involved, as are primitive camping conditions. There are no amenities along the trail so participants should be comfortable without common conveniences. Transportation is by bus. Participants need a full sized internal frame backpack, sturdy well-broken in hiking boots, sleeping bag and pad, and any personal equipment needed for 3 days on the trail.
