The Copyright Law (Title 17 US Code) limits the reproduction and distribution of copyrighted works. In general, the law allows a single copy of a chapter, article, essay or poem for use in scholarly research, class work, or teaching.

Unauthorized duplication or showing for profit of video recordings is a violation of the copyright act.

Unauthorized copying of images or text into web pages by scanning paper or copying electronic files infringes on copywrite.
