Colby Cares Day
The 12th Annual Colby Cares Day took place Saturday, April 19th.  The weather was beautiful and the event was an overwhelming success!  See the April 17 and April 20 Morning Sentinel Articles for more details.
 
Who We Are
The Colby Volunteer Center exists to provide each member of the Colby community with the opportunity to have a positive influence on the lives of others through volunteerism in the greater Waterville area. The CVC aims to increase awareness of the importance of volunteer work as a social responsibility as well as a form of self-development and education. The Directors of the Volunteer Center for 2007-2008 are Celia Boren and Jess Palffy.  The Assistant Directors are Byron Meinerth, Sameera Anwar, and Steve Erario.
 
 
Office Hours
Colby students, faculty, staff and community members should feed free to drop in the CVC office (Diamond Building 110) during office hours.
 
Monday:            9-11AM & 7-8PM
 
Tuesday:          8-10:30 AM
 
Wednesday:    10AM-12PM
 
Thursday:         7-8PM
 
 
Getting Involved

There are three easy ways to get involved with the Colby Volunteer Center .

(1) Volunteers can participate in one of our regularly scheduled programs. Time commitment is typically from once a week to once per month; see the attached document for more details.

(2): Volunteers can participate in our one-time service events scheduled throughout the year. Details of upcoming one-day events are listed below; check out the digest and campus postings for more details

(3): Volunteers can respond on an as needed basis to individual community member requests for tutors, mentors, etc.   Opportunites of this kind will be listed on the website and e-mailed to our listserv.

Taxi vouchers are available through our office for any volunteer who does not have his/her own transportation
